Worksheet 1

Worksheet 2

This exercise asks students to undertake some research about different methods of communication. They could use the theory mini-website or undertake their own research on the Internet.

Once they are familiar with the different methods of communication, they are asked to list the advantages and disadvantages of each in a table.

Worksheet 3

This worksheet asks students to research recent news stories about communication methods which have been reported on in the news.

Students are asked to read at least three current news stories, answer a set of questions and then report their findings back to the class.

Useful to ensure that students get an idea of the use of communication in a real life context

Worksheet 4

This task asks students to talk to parents, older friends, neighbours etc and find out about how they used to communicate at work before e-mails and technology was 'the norm'. They are then asked to compare this to how communication takes place today in a business environment.

This is an ideal task to set for homework
