Assessment levels when creating presentations

 

Level 3

  • Have created the presentation immediately on the computer with no pre-planning
  • Have presented and exchanged their ideas with others

 

Level 4

  • Have selected information from a source
  • Have questioned the information's relevance
  • Have combined relevant pictures and text
  • Shows an awareness of audience
  • Some evidence of planning
  • Some evidence of refining work

 

Level 5

  • All previous levels have been achieved
  • Start of independent learning e.g. able to find out for themselves how to do something
  • Selects information from a range of sources, not just one place
  • Use a range of tools within a task e.g. alter a picture using a graphics package, include a chart from Excel
  • Accuracy - all text spellchecked and correct
  • Fitness for purpose - consistency and appropriateness
  • Evaluating their work - able to discuss what has worked well and not so well and make sensible suggestions for improvement.
  • Justify decisions - explain through annotation their thoughts and reasoning
  • A multimedia effect on each page (sound, movement, video)

 

Level 6

  • An appropriate multimedia effect on each page (sound, movement, video) - effects appropriate for intended audience and do not distract the viewer from the information included in the show.
  • An appropriate image on each page
  • A theme is used across each slide to give a consistent 'feel' to the show. Theme chosen to reflect topic/audience.
  • Evidence of efficiency e.g. hyperlinks and action buttons
